Hey Gorgeous!

Ever went on a “date” with cobblestone streets or river banks? How about a date with a bridge? It was definitely my first time.  

I wore stripes — my favorite sailor panache — one that’s totally appropriate for a city that stands on three rivers. I upped the stripe hype with a bandeau for the date, too!

What’s a bandeau? A bandeau is a women’s strapless top formed from a band of fabric fitted around the bust. Now that’s a fashion trick that can transform any outfit into a statement appropriate for a date. (Check my last post on stripes here.)

Another important detail here is the yellow satchel — good for breaking up a dark and monotoned outfit. Plus, the burgundy boots, which I styled two different way this week: first, with a smock dress over jeans, and second, with a feisty green sweater and a mini skirt.

I live in the city with 446 bridges! That’s a lot of bridges. The Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers meet to start the Ohio River right here. Smack dab in the middle of the city. Then, the Ohio river travels through a few states and goes into the Mississippi River, which continues all the way to the Gulf of Mexico! In theory, I could travel by water all the way to Florida or the Cayman Islands from here. Or I could fly.  

If you haven’t guessed from my geography lesson, I live in Pittsburgh, PA — the most provincial big city I know and love. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 

There’s lots of elevation in Pittsburgh, too. We have grand views. Lots of restaurants with views, too. 

But my date didn’t take me out to dinner. We decided on a more romantic setup. See the good-looking river bank, handsome bridges, and the elegant architecture my date offered instead in the video below.
