Hey, I'm Anna!

It’s a new day, a new week, and a new blog post from me.
This week, I want to describe my experience with the coolest of trends wearing open-toe shoes with socks! I do wear socks with my platform sandals, but this is my first time ever trying socks with mules.
These rose gold mules look a lot like Gucci’s mid-heel style, but Gucci doesn’t make them in rose gold. These are also priced a bit differently. (Btw, Gucci mules are on sale right now — link below.)
Now let’s discuss the question on all of your minds. Mules in winter? What?! Why, but of course, Gorgeous! We seriously lucked into a way to wear mules in winter — with socks. It’s doable!
I love this trend because it can make girls from ages 2 to 92 feel cute. Cute and innocent. Like a high school debutante.
Everyday life isn’t always about trying new things, so I try new things on purpose. New foods. New fashion. New vacation destinations. Sometimes trying new things is fun, right?
Not every experiment works. But experiments aren’t about succeeding as much as they are about pushing boundaries. And that makes succeeding even sweeter.
Back to socks and open shoes. Don’t try this in the snowy winters like we have in Pittsburgh, but if the weather is and has been dry, this will work even if it’s cold. I was going to use wool socks, but they didn’t fit. But if you have a pair of mules that have gotten a little wide with time, you should totally consider adding some cozy socks before slipping them on.
These golden heels go perfectly with a happy-colored, pom-pom “debutante” sweater. I believe in wearing bright colors during the cold season. I’m not a big fan of wearing gray or black clothes. Those colors don’t help to lift your mood during dreary fall and winter days. I’m not a big fan of those colors, period.
This look goes well with a midi denim skirt. I folded up the hem of the skirt this time, just because I like to find different ways to wear my clothes. (Check out how turned a skirt into a dress here! And then try at home.) You’ll be surprised how many “lives” your skirts or dresses can have if you’re not afraid to experiment with wearing them differently from how they were originally intended to be worn. And you’ll discover how bright colors will keep you happy on a gray day. They call it color therapy!
So, what do you think, Gorgeous? Could you rock a debutante look? Let me know in the comments below, and you can share your pictures with me!
Stay bright and warm, Gorgeous!
Anna
P.S. Note to Pittsburghers: the best time to take pictures in the Strip District is the holidays (Christmas day, in my case). There are ZERO people.
Ready to take your confidence to the next level? I can't wait to help you heal, feel and thrive from the inside out!
